Summary

The quarter pieces lawn, part of the early 18th century formal gardens, which extended from the Iron Court, directly west of the house and was bordered to the North by the rampart terraces. The four lawn areas were separated by a cruciform path, and the whole feature was c. 290m long and 110m wide. The feature was removed as part of Capability Brown's remodelling of the park, though a bank and ditchto the north may represent one edge of the feature.

Description

The quarter pieces lawn, part of the early 18th century formal gardens, which extended from the Iron Court, directly west of the house and was bordered to the North by the rampart terraces.
