Summary
A greenhouse at the north end of the parterre, part of the formal gardens dating to the early 18th century, first depicted in 1710. A steep scarp c. 1.5m tall marking the end of the level ground, along the North side of the feature was identified during field survey (11/12/2012) but no above-ground remains could be identified.

Description
A greenhouse at the north end of the parterre, part of the formal gardens dating to the early 18th century, shown on 1749 mapping (1). The Greenhouse is first depicted in 1710 (2), while the 1730 painting of the West Front of the House depicts the Greenhouse as a monumental structure, projecting above the rampart terraces (3). A steep scarp c. 1.5m tall marking the end of the level ground, along the North side of the feature was identified during field survey (11/12/2012) but no structural remains could be identified.
