Description

Francis Court Farm is due south of Killerton House in the northwest corner of the Estate and directly west of the motorway. The farmhouse is a listed Grade II 15c cross-passage house with 16/17c additions. The outbuildings are to the south of the house and include a late 19c stable block. The farm is approximately 352 acres and was acquired by the Aclands in 1752 when granted to them by Francis Gwyn.

Francis Court can be traced back to 1241 when it was known as Kildrington and was held by William Geraund. In 1243-44 it was passed to John Le Fraunceys "the Frenchman", this is thought to be how it become Francis Court. By 1671 it is known as Francis Court. In the 1875 Estate Ledger a cottage is mentioned being built and in 1881 a new stable.
