Summary
A Second World War observation post or target dugout, defined by a concrete structure sunk into the ground, originally surrounded by earthen mound. The concrete structure remains measure 5.9m x 2.8m and 0.15m thick. It is located east of Henner’s Combe close to the Target Railway (MNA168310) and was part of the tank training range on Bossington Hill.

Description
An observation post built of concrete and sunk into the ground. It is east of Henner’s Combe and close to sites 115508 and 115509.Until recently (1998-9), the site was an earth mound, the farmer has removed this and a rectangular area of concrete is visible 5.9m x 2.8m and 0.15m thick. On the south, downhill, side some courses of brickwork are visible below the concrete. This was protected accommodation for observers of the tank training ranges in World War II. The earth originally piled over it was for protection and disguise. Condition: good. [1]
The Second World War observation post or Target dugout was visible on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project. The earthern mound that once surround the concrete structure measured about 28 metres by 34 metres.
