Description
A flat topped earth mound, probably an observation post, southeast of East Myne Farm, 34m x 18m and 2m high. It is not regular in shape and is set at the end of a spur above the south side of Grexy Combe. A wall 8.9m long and 0.9m high has a return at each end, it is set along the north side of the mound. Below the stone wall is concrete, possibly part of an underground building. This is similar to sites 115495-115498, and connected with the World War II tank training ranges. Condition: good. [1]
The Second World War observation post or bunker was visible on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project. Further information, sources and photograph references are available in the Exmoor National Park HER record MSO7670. [2]
