Summary

A Second World War observation post and/or Target dugout is defined by a flat-topped mound at the western end of a target railway north of East Myne Farm. It measures 18m by 9m and up to 3.7m high. It was part of the tank training range on Bossington and North Hill.

Description

a World War II flat-topped mound at the western end of a target railway north of East Myne Farm.It is 18m x 9m and up to 3.7m high. The target railway comes into its northern side from the east. There are pieces of reinforced concrete and there may have been a structure in the mound, it is thought it acted as protection for the target operators. Condition: good. [1]

The Second World War observation post or Target dugout was visible on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project. Further information, sources and photograph references are available in the Exmoor National Park HER record MSO7664. [2]
