Description
This is a round cairn of local stone (0.30 max. height) which incorporates a central cist. It lies prominently atop a hillside at 300m OD. The cairn appears to have been robbed of stone, particularly to the SW, possibly for the construction of DOL 60 approx. 50m to the NW. The capstone of the central cist is missing. The cist - c.2x4m- has both of its long sided stones in situ. The feature covers approximately 45sq.m. and commands excellent views over most of the property; large tracts of the Mawddach Valley, and mountains from Cadir Idris to the South sweeping in a large arc eastwards - including distant Snowdon to the north.
This site does not appear on the 1:10,000 O.S. map.
