Summary

A brick built reservoir on the edge of the motte. It was built by G F Luttrell in 1870 and has a capacity of 40 000 gallons. It was gravity fed by a pipeline from a spring at Broadwood Farm. The reservoir remianed in use until 1960.

A brick built reservoir lies in the grounds of Dunster Castle, on the edge of the motte at SS 9909 4343. It was built by G F Luttrell in 1870, has a capacity of 40 000 gallons and was gravity fed by a pipeline from a spring at Broadwood Farm. The reservoir remianed in use until 1960. It supplied most of Dunster town. Much of the exterior of the structure is obscured with vegetation; access is via a brick vaulted passage way, a plaque records "GFL 1870". (1).
