Description
A medieval field system lying 400m east-southeast of Furzebury Brake, which may have been related to the abandoned medieval farm site (115435) in roughly the same area. One source mentions earlier fields overlain by the medieval system, but the RCHME Surveyors could not see any trace of them. The system extends well beyond National Trust land and the Exmoor National Park owns the adjoining area of North Hill. Condition: good. [1]
The medieval field system was visible on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project in 2007. Further information, sources and photograph references are available in the Exmoor National Park HER record MSO7627. [2-3]
