Summary

A small modern cairn on the site of Bossington Beacon, at the summit of Bossington Hill. Measures 6.4m by 4.7m and 0.5m high. May be on thee site of a possible Bronze Age burial cairn and post-medieval beacon.

Description

A small modern cairn on the site of Bossington Beacon, at the summit of Bossington Hill.It is thought to be on the remnant of a prehistoric cairn, a mound is shown on the 1809 OS 1” map. Condition: good. [1]

The modren cairn (6.4m by 4.7m; 0.5m high) may on the site of a possible Bronze Age burial cairn and post-medieval beacon. It was visible on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project.
