Summary
Gabled roof. Stone tiled. Saddle stones at apex. Cast iron and bronze pump attached to west gable end on timber post – broken. Not on 1840 tithe map but appears on 1903 OS map. Probably dates to between 1840 and 1881. It has been used variously as a calf shed, a chicken house and a duck house. In 1938 it was called a Vegetable Store and later there are references to it as a log store, the latest in 2002.
Walls:Coursed rubble. Truss visible in east gable end.
Interior
Walls:Plastered on 3 sides, whitewashed on east side.
Floor:Concrete.
Door:6 planks with 3 ledges. Hung on strap hinges. Norfolk latch. Modern.
Window: 2-light at one time split into 2 by concrete partition. Modern cantilevered light and 1 fixed light in timber frame.
Roof:2 rows of purlins and plank ridge. Common rafters laid on edge. There were remains of insulation in 1990 but it was re-roofed in 2006. At the same time 2 of 7 rafters on south pitch and 2 on north pitch were renewed.
Condition: Stable condition. Recently re-roofed.
