Description
The Augustinian Priory thought to be located 30m west of St Wilfred's Church was founded around 1206 by Patrick de Mobberley and existed until at least 1230. The site of the old Manor House is by tradition the site of the priory though this seems unlikely. Recent geophysics carried out by STAG and Archaeophysica seem to indicate features to the immediate east and south of the site of the Old manor House
