Description
The track joins West Challacombe lane a few metres W of the farm, and follows the contour W, then slightly uphill through Knowl field, to the footpath at the W boundary of the field. The track is slightly uphill of a hedgebank. The C19 maps show an enclosed track partly along the line of this track, but veering slightly downhill at the E end. It would have joined West Challacombe lane 100m w from the present track. The map evidence suggests that the E half of the track is therefore later than the W half, which continues W into the field below Lester Cliff.
