Description
A large quarry at the eastern end of Bossington Lane, in the southeastern corner of field 3963, is much overgrown with mature trees in it. It is recorded as Pit Orchard on the 1876 Holnicote Estate map (216,217) and on the 1841 Porlock Tithe map, as well as on the 1809-12 Holnicote Estate Survey, Manor of Bossington, which suggests it is 18c or earlier. Condition: good. [1]
