Summary
The core of this building is probably 18th century but much of the front wall and southern gable were rebuilt in 1962 when it was re-roofed. Its original use is not known but the northern end would seem to have been used as a three stall stable for a while, although it is now divided by rough partitions into two looseboxes.

Description
The core of this building is probably 18th century but much of the front wall and southern gable were rebuilt in 1962 when it was re-roofed. Its original use is not known but the northern end would seem to have been used as a three stall stable for a while, although it is now divided by rough partitions into two looseboxes.
ROOF - Asbestos on sawn timber tiebeam trusses, all 1962. The lean-to has a slate roof c1980.
WALLS - The southern gable wall and the adjoining section of the west wall were rebuilt in 1962 using breeze blocks then rendered. The remainder are of cobbles and small angular fines with large flat quoins.
DETAILS - There is an early 19th century plank and batten door with spoon ended lift off hinges in a heavy wooden frame. The old stable is partially cobbles but the main section has a concreted floor, the real section has an earth floor. No sign of stalls could be found in the old stable.
