Description
The overlying spoilheap appears to have been deliberately deposited towards the old spoilheap; the top is 6.6m by 4.9m and it is 2.7m high. The adit is rather shapeless; at its mouth it is 3.0m wide but broadens out to about 6.0m. The sides of the adit appear to have had shallow trenches cut into them in three or four places, both linear and square, which have a crisp appearance. There is a external bank on the south side of the adit, 3.0m wide and 0.5m high (Lax, A. 1995).
This site overlies another similar site (20118*47) (Siddall, J. 1998).
