Description
Penny and Salters Cottages, a 2 story converted former fish cellar which forms the southeast range of Rashleigh Cellars courtyard (site 90325), are situated on Port Gaverne property and date from the early 19th century. Penny's Cottage in the left corner comprises the ground floor only, the first floor being redundant. It has a small blockwork bathroom extension to the front right under the roof of an open fronted grage range.
The cottages are mainly built of rubblestone, with cob and rendering in places and brick chimneys; the pilchard pressing holes are brick framed. The roof is covered with graded slates, asbestos slates and dark clay tiles.
