Summary

Immediately to the W of the SW corner of the building, a depression on the line of the open tail race indicates that beneath the smelting house there is a culvert, which must still convey water from the wheel pit. The open tail-race channel joins the stream to the W of the deposits of slag.

Description

Water emerges from rubble down-hill to the W of the smelting house, rubble which represents either debris filling an open race, or a collapsed culvert. Immediately to the W of the SW corner of the building, a depression on the line of the open tail race indicates that beneath the smelting house there is a culvert, which must still convey water from the wheel pit. The open tail-race channel joins the stream to the W of the deposits of slag.
