Description
A water meadow system was identified at East Myne deserted farmstead (115437). It was fed from a pond which is damned west of the farmstead, and which could therefore be used to help in control and supply of water to the gutters. Condition: good. [1]
The post-medieval water meadow was visible as earthworks on historical aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project. Centred at SS 9305 4813, south of the deserted farmstead, it is defined by four roughly parallel ditches, orientated northeast to southwest. Further information, sources and photograph references are available in the Exmoor National Park HER record MSO7652. [2]
