Description
A tunnel or covered passage linking the stable yard (131445) with the main house (131443). Although it was built at the same time as the main house (mid-late 18th century), it appears to have been added to in the early decade of the 19th century when the original approaches from the stable yard to the house were altered. The tunnel is barrel vaulted, 1.84m wide and 2.6m high, with white-painted, rendered sides and stone-flagged floors. The floor of the tunnel gently slopes down from the house at one end to a set of double-folding doors at the yard end, 1.8m wide with doors each 2.02m high by 0.87m wide.
