Description
Field boundary, between Lower and Middle Thorn Park, formed by a substantial scarp 1.5–3m wide, indicative of ploughing on the S facing slope. The scarp is eroding badly due to three fields being used as one with sheep moving freely between them. As a consequence the scarps are rutted, and pitted with hollows, which erode the scarp and undermine the hedgerow plants.
Recommendations: The boundary is post-medieval in origin and an important landscape feature. To prevent further loss, urgent action is required. The boundary should be restored and made stock-proof as a priority.
