Description
A rectangular room, with connecting gaps to Room 28 to the west, and Room 29a to the east. It has no distinguishing features, but the ground surface is obscured by wooden shed filling most of room. Sampling excavation has demonstrated survival of 4th-Century stratigraphy below modern ground level (covered in turf). Walls with pitched concrete tile caps, caps are in poor condition, especially on the north wall.[SNA62028]
2017 excavation of NE corner or Room 29 revealed no surviving Roman floor surfaces. Thin scatter of rubble above natural clay and brash [SNA68988].
