Description

Site visit 09/03/2000:
Two stoop blocked gate opening in the centre of wall 081, W of Catherine House. Opening 2.58m wide, blocked by walling. The W stoop is a roughly tooled squared slab, 1.23m high, 0.32m wide and 0.23m thick, with four sockets on the W face. Top socket is rectangular, 0.18m high, 0.06m wide and 0.03.m deep, open at the top. Central two sockets are L-shaped, and the lowest is circular, 0.06m diameter and 0.02m deep. The E stoop is also a squared roughly tooled slab, 1.57m high, 0.17m wide and 0.27m thick, with three sockets on the W face. Top socket is 0.19m high, 0.07m wide and 0.04m deep, lower two are 0.07m square and 0.05m deep [1].
