  • BANK (EARTHWORK) (Iron Age - 800 BC to 42 AD)

Description

A short section of well formed E/W aligned bank lies to the E of 31652 adjacent to Red Beck. This is up to 4m wide and 1m high, and curves slightly. Probably part of East Witton Camp, arguably associated with 30652E, further to the W - on much the same alignment. However, earth-moving associated with 31653 has broken any continuity. There is possibly a very slight ditch and secondary bank to the S of the main feature.
