Description

Three small quarries on the cliffs north-west of Lower Treginnis. All appear to be partly filled in and largely overgrown. They range in diameter from 10m to 2m and are at most 2m deep. It is possible that there are several other quarries along this clifftop, some perhaps concealed beneath the dense gorse. The stone excavated from these quarries was probably used to face the earth banks which form the field boundaries. They are marked on the early editions of the O.S. 25 inch map but they could date to any period.
