Summary

Large earthfast gritstone boulder c. 1.7m high with five square cut sockets for beam slots cut along S top edge and 1 square socket cut into S face.

Description

(1) Large earthfast gritstone boulder c. 1.7m high with five square cut sockets for beam slots cut along S top edge and 1 square socket cut into S face. Slots and notches on W face suggest two structures. Drip gullies on top. Also a carved cross on S face, possibly a masons mark and small grooves on S face, possibly from tool sharpening. Possibly associated with quarrying.
