Description
A gun emplacement on the ridge between East Combe and Henner’s Combe, overlooking Selworthy Sands, is a flat-topped mound 15m x 10m and 2m high.South of it is a larger mound 35m x 25m and 2m high which protects the gun emplacement. There is demolition rubble in the second mound, including rails and a set of wheels. It is part of the tank training range on Bossington Hill. Condition: good. [1]
A Second World War gun emplacement or winch dugout (for the operation of moving targets that were pulled on sledges) was visible on aerial photographs and mapped as part of the Severn Estuary RCZAS mapping project.
