  • DOVECOTE (Built, Mid 16th C to Late 16th C - 1533 AD to 1569 AD)

Description

Dovecote. Mid C16th. Sarsen, formerly rendered. Stone tile roof. Circular plan with stable door on north side and low door to south. Walls slightly battered. Open timber glover with ball finial. Interior has 15 tiers of nest boxes. No ladder. Documentary evidence indicates a building date between 1533 and 1569. [Listed Building description 22 August 1966]
