Summary
These two long necked beakers were found in the bank of Clumber Lake in 1961. The find may suggest that the are contained a former barrow site.

Description
(1) These two long necked beakers were found in the bank of Clumber Lake in 1961.
(2) Two intact vessels were recovered from Clumber lake edge (in section). Further investigation suggested the remains of a ditch which might be a ploughed-out barrow. The area is under woodland and has suffered erosion at the lake edge from both the water and fisherman use.
(3) The beakers were loaned to, and put on display at, Bassetlaw Museum. Bronze Age beaker, c.1800 B.C. Necked beaker of Clarkes's Southern British Beaker Group 54. Found at Clumber Park in 1960.
